1. Who you are dealing with
The Cube is published and operated by Underscore Blank OÜ with a share capital of 300,00 €, registered at Tallinn under number 17441501, registered office at Harju maakond, Tallinn, Kesklinna linnaosa, Tornimäe tn 5, 10145, VAT number EE102956748.
The site is hosted by Scaleway, 8, rue de la Ville-l’Évêque, 75008 Paris, France.
Below, "we" is that seller and "you" is the person buying or using a cube.
2. What is being sold
The Cube is one object of 9,261 small cubes: nine shells that are sold cube by cube, around a Master Cube at the center.
For a single payment you get:
- the exclusive right to occupy one identified cell of the Cube;
- the right to publish on that cell what its layer allows — a name and a message on every layer, and images, a voice note, a link, a glow or an animated face as the layers go inward;
- a private edit link that lets you change what is on it.
You are not buying a file, a token, a certificate, a share, or any right over the site itself. Nothing is delivered anywhere else. The cube exists here and nowhere else, and its value is whatever you think a permanent trace on somebody else's website is worth.
3. Sold once, and permanently
Each cell is sold exactly once. Once bought it is yours, and it is never put back on sale — not after a takedown, not after years of silence, not if we can no longer reach you. There is no subscription, no renewal, no expiry, and we never resell it.
"Permanently" means for as long as the site is operated, and we intend to operate it indefinitely. Nobody can promise more than that honestly. Section 9 says what happens if it stops.
4. Price and payment
Prices are in euros, all taxes included, and the price of a cell is always shown before you pay.
Layer 1, the outer skin, starts at 1 €. Each layer inward costs twice the layer above it. From layer 2 inward, a cell that shows two or three faces to the outside costs twice or three times its layer's base price, because it carries two or three canvases. The Master Cube is not sold cell by cell: it is sold whole, once, for 100 000 €.
The amount charged is always recomputed by us from the position of the cell. A price sent by a browser is never trusted.
Payment is taken by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
Reserving a cube holds it for 15 minutes, and at most 3 cubes at a time. A hold that is not paid for expires and the cell goes back on sale. A hold is not a purchase and costs nothing.
5. There is no account
Buying needs no account and we do not create one. Your browser carries a signed identity cookie so that a hold, the payment that follows it and the cube it produces all belong to the same person. That is everything it does. See the Cookie Policy.
What you keep instead is the edit link minted when the cube is sold. That link is the credential for your cube: anyone who has it can change what is on the cube, so keep it as you would keep a password.
If you lose it, write to us from the email address you gave at payment and we will send it again. If you paid without leaving an email address and you have also lost the cookie, we have no way to prove the cube is yours: it stays yours and stays exactly as it is, and it can no longer be edited.
6. What you put on your cube
You keep ownership of what you publish. By publishing it you grant us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, reproduce and display it on this site and in the images the site generates about itself — share cards, previews, the registry — for as long as the cube exists.
You confirm that you hold the rights to what you publish and that it is not: illegal; an infringement of someone else's rights; sexual content involving minors; incitement to hatred, violence or terrorism; harassment or defamation; someone else's personal information published without their consent; malware; or a link to any of those.
What you publish is public and stays public. It is indexed by search engines, screenshotted and copied by people we do not control, and we cannot pull those copies back. Publish accordingly.
You can change or empty your cube at any time with your edit link. Emptying it does not undo the sale — the cell stays yours, and an empty cell is not resold.
7. Moderation and takedown
Nothing is reviewed before it appears. Every cube carries a report button, reports are read by a person, and that queue is the only way content comes down.
When content breaks section 6 we remove it. The cube stays sold and stays yours, the cell is never put back on sale, and the payment is not refunded: you paid for the cell, and you still have the cell. Deliberate, repeated abuse can end with the cube emptied for good and its edit link revoked, again without refund.
To report something, use the report button on the cube, or write to contact@getthecube.xyz with the cube's coordinates. Rights holders asking for the removal of infringing content should write to the same address.
8. Right of withdrawal, and how it is waived
As a consumer buying at a distance you normally have fourteen days to withdraw, under article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code, which transposes Directive 2011/83/EU.
A cube is digital content supplied on a medium that is not physical, and it is supplied immediately: the moment the payment succeeds the cell is taken out of sale for everyone else and handed to you. Under article L221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code, there is no right of withdrawal for such content once supply has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and their acknowledgement that the right is lost by that consent.
So before paying you are asked to tick a box that reads: "I ask for my cube to be handed over immediately, and I accept that I lose my right of withdrawal once it is." Payment cannot be started without it, and your acknowledgement is recorded with the order.
If you would rather keep the fourteen days, do not tick it and do not buy. We cannot supply a cube two weeks later: the cell would have to sit unsold and unreservable in the meantime, and the whole object is one shared, finite grid.
None of this touches the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L217-3 and following of the Consumer Code). If a cube does not work as described here, tell us and we will repair it or refund it.
9. Availability, and what happens if the site stops
We do not promise the site is reachable at every moment. Maintenance, incidents and hosting failures happen, and a cube being briefly unreachable is not a defect.
We intend to run the Cube indefinitely, and a sold cell is never resold. If we ever have to stop operating it, we will say so at least 1 month in advance and publish an export of what is on the Cube, so that what you left is not lost with the server. No refund is due at that point. That is the honest limit of the word permanent, and it is why you should treat the money as spent rather than invested.
10. Personal data
We hold: the identity id in your cookie, the email address Stripe collects at payment, your order, and whatever you publish on your cube. It is used to run the sale, to reach you about your cube, and to handle reports. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us. Audience measurement runs only if you accept it, and the Cookie Policy says exactly what it is.
You can ask for access, correction, or deletion at contact@getthecube.xyz. Deleting your personal data does not delete the cube, and it cannot withdraw content you published publicly from the people who already copied it.
11. Liability
We are liable for the damage our own fault causes, in the ordinary way. We are not liable for what other buyers publish on their cubes, for content reached through a link on a cube, or for the loss of an edit link you did not keep.
Nothing here removes a liability the law does not allow us to remove — including the legal guarantee of conformity and liability for hidden defects.
12. Law, disputes, contact
These terms are governed by French law. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
Before going to court you may use free consumer mediation. The European Commission also runs an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

13. Changes
We can change these terms. A change never applies to a purchase already made: the version in force when you paid is the one that governs your sale. The revision and date at the foot of this page say which one you are reading.
